head bumps!

Hello everyone!!

It's been a long time (Way over a year!!!) but I just accidentally came across my own blog and decided I should update again. I mean, goodness knows my hypochondriac tendencies haven' t gone away. Now that I'm an RN and working in a cancer hospital, you have to know that I'm diagnosing myself with cancer on a weekly basis. No worries, I have other diseases with which to fill those days when I don't have cancer.

So what I'm going to talk about today is a legit problem I've been having for like 2 years now and no one can tell me a solid reason for why it keeps happening!

So every once in a while (it happens almost monthly now) I get these infected hair follicles. I have no proof that this is what it is, but it's what I am going with. So I end up getting a knot on my scalp that keeps growing and gets very tender and red. If it gets really bad, it starts draining. And if it keeps getting bad, the lymph node on my neck that corresponds with the side of my head the bump on pops up. It's weird! And sometimes the lymph node itself is painful and keeps me from moving my neck!

So if it gets bad, I end up going to the doctor and then they give me antibiotics. I guess it works, but the lymph node takes forever to go away!

I do have this cream to put on the bumps when they start appearing and it usually does dry them out and keeps them from getting too bad. The only problem is that I always hope the bumps will go away by themselves. Obviously, that never happens.

I went to Wal-Mart today and bought one of those medicated shampoos (I bought head and shoulders citrus breeze) in the hopes that it will get rid of my bumps. Now I don't have a dandruff problem, but I am DEF not against helping get rid of it. But this shampoo was the only one I could find that was designed to help control oily hair, which I'm thinking has something to do with my head bumps.

I'll let you know if it works...

More tomorrow.
I have to work tomorrow, so you know I will come back with something crazy.
